New healings are still being recorded at the Annaya monastery. This page lists the latest recorded and reported miracles, and keeps them clearly separate from the miracles formally recognized by the Catholic Church.
These are the miracles that passed Church investigation for official sainthood milestones. They are distinct from broader devotional claims.
The Annaya monastery keeps a running register of miracles attributed to Saint Charbel's intercession, maintained by the monk assigned to assess and record them. Recording at the monastery is not the same as formal Church recognition, which involves a separate Vatican process.
Newest first. "Recorded at Annaya" means the monastery's registrar entered the case in its archive; it is not equivalent to formal Vatican recognition.
In January 2026 the monastery recorded two additional healings attributed to Saint Charbel's intercession: one in the United States and one in Lebanon, according to CNEWA's ONE Magazine report published March 2026.
Antonio Ishaac, 28, had stopped all treatment for Crohn's disease in December 2024. After a May 2025 visit to the monastery and a night of intense pain, he says the pain vanished, and medical tests months later showed the disease had disappeared. The monastery recorded his case in October 2025.
Nancy Nehme, a university English instructor, suffered debilitating back and leg pain from a herniated disk. After a 2017 night of prayer before an image of Saint Charbel she reports the pain left her; an MRI in 2024 showed the disk was back to normal. The monastery recorded her case in October 2025.
During a feast-day Mass at St. Ferdinand Church in Naples, Monsignor Pasquale Silvestri anointed more than 500 faithful with oil blessed for the occasion and reported that the emptied jar was full again when he put it away. Following canon law, he reported the event to the postulator of Saint Charbel's cause and stored the vessel for Church authorities to study. This remains a reported event, not a formally recognized miracle.
Pope Leo XIV prayed at Saint Charbel's tomb in Annaya during his apostolic journey to Lebanon - the first time a pope visited the tomb - and entrusted Lebanon, the Church, and the world to the saint's intercession, asking especially for peace in the Levant.
Since the 1993 healing of Nohad al-Shami, pilgrims gather at Annaya on the 22nd of every month. Many later healings, including recent ones recorded in the register, are connected by pilgrims to this devotion and to the monastery's blessed oil and soil.
